How to get those creative juices flowin'

It's the last day of 2018, and at this point I bet many of my fellow creatives have locked into their New Year's resolutions. This is where most people say they need to lose of few pounds and get in shape, and that is ALWAYS a resolution for me.

So when I was on my elliptical yesterday morning trying to decrease my waistline, I got to thinking about some of the projects I'm working on. Being the end of the year, I get a little burned out on my creativity, so I was just thinking what I could do to get inspired.

The further I got into my workout (plus some Foo Fighters in my earbuds) the more the creative juices started to flow. In my mind, I was thinking, "How am I going to do this?" and "What resources will I need to do it?" It was like I was finding clarity. As I concluded and the sweat was dripping, I went my little notebook and wrote some ideas down. It was fun, actually.

I always knew that exercise has helped me get inspired and focused, But what's ironic is I need inspiration to exercise. I don't like to workout, but when I'm doing it, I really can open my mind to the problems I have and how I can fix them. It's a weird way for me to escape. Does that make sense?

So if you are playing the "Get-in-Shape-for-2019" card as a New Year's Resolution, use that energy to clear your mind to help inspire you to get those creative juices flowing.

Happy New Year!!!!
